Make your dream come true!

Happy Earth Day from Bellevue!

Nurturing nature…

Bellevue has a strong desire to nurture nature. The Turtle Project has been an important part of our community.

People come to Costa Rica, particularly the blue zone to enjoy mother nature. Giving back to the community is something important in terms of values to all of us.

The turtle project has released many hatches of turtle eggs. The community continues to stay committed to helping nature. We hope that each and every one of you will do something today to encourage Mother Nature to thrive!

Happy birthday to all.…

Mother nature!

Bellevue is located on the Southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula which is one of the five blue zones in the world.

One thing you can count on…

Mother nature will never disappoint! There is so much beauty abundant in this area of the blue zone. It is authentic Costa Rica filled with amazing wonders of mother nature! Check out this action between Tambor and Isla Tortuga.

It doesn’t get much better than this!

Bellevue Plaza Coming

November 2023 will unveil an amazing plaza that will offer everything from art, dance, gourmet food, and wine. Picnic grab-and-go baskets. Interior design!

This is an exciting time for Bellevue. New homes are being finished. New neighbors and friendships are being created. New customers will be coming to the area to shop at one of the high-end commercial shops. There really aren’t any high and commercial strips in the area besides Santa Teresa.

The plaza will be located along the road to Playa Organos. It will have easy access and parking. There will be decks and areas to enjoy a conversation and coffee. It is situated in a beautiful grove of trees and is sure to offer treasures and moments of relaxation.

Playa Organos–The Next….

Big Thing……

Big things are coming to Bellevue and Playa Organos. People ask where is the “next big thing”. Right now home values are very reasonable and in fact down-right low priced. Exceptional Value for your money.

The waterline is going in on the beach road. There are specialty shops and services, gourmet food, interior design, art, and dance!!! Delivery services to your door. So right now things are in development and if you were to go to Santa Teresa or Nosara? You would find the same land/home for a value that is astronomical if you can find it. The inventory is low and the prices are inflated.

This inflation has not come to Playa Organos but rest assured in 5 years these prices will not be the same. ROI? Return On Investment?

Bellevue. Playa Organos. Ferry. Easy Access. Airport Nearby. Beaches. Isla Tortuga. Good Roads. Need we say more?

It’s another great day at Playa Organos. Thank you to the Turtle team, Carlos Solana. thank you Anna for being such a wonderful volunteer along with Eric, Constantine, and the team! The turtles are absolutely thriving. They are released on a regular basis from the Bellevue group. It’s a great day at Playa Organos. Costa Rica! All about helping me environment

What a beautiful volunteer, Anna helping the turtles!

Playa Organos Turtles Thrive!

Volunteers work to make the turtle hatchery happen!

The Turtle Project started by Carlos Solana has been a driving force for people coming together from all parts of the world. The community has stepped up and Bellevue brings in new partners.

Summer has started and the heat is on. This super sunny day was a w

9inspiring to see at least six volunteers some from long distances enduring the sun and heat. Digging holes and enclosing the area so the nesting sites will not be disturbed.

Great to see women from the local community working so hard!

Erik explained that he had released with the team at least 650 turtles into the sea! Wow! Way to go Bellevue & Paquara along with global family members! Wooohooo! Yes to Thriving.

The sanctuary is being built bit by bit with great success.

Playa Organos Community Works To Keep La Playa Clean……

The beach is something the community at Bellevue values and greatly appreciates. We all go to the beach for recreation and serenity, and keeping it clean can be a challenge, especially during the winter months.

Local residents including Bellevue have been getting together on a regular basis to pick up the trash, gater wood, and make the beach beautiful for all to enjoy.

Thank you for all that help!

Bellevue Is A “Blue Zone”

If you don’t know about Blue Zones–Read This Information

Stand Up Paddle Board Yoga, is fun, healthy, and thriving!
Fresh Catch, healthy, delicious, and fun!

Thank You: Bluezones.com

Dan Buettner, Blue Zones founder, is a National Geographic Fellow and multiple New York Times bestselling author. He has discovered five places in the world – dubbed blue zones – where people live the longest and are healthiest: Okinawa, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; Nicoya, Costa Rica; Ikaria, Greece, and Loma Linda, California.

Identifying the Blue Zones

The concept of blue zones grew out of the demographic work done by Gianni Pes and Michel Poulain outlined in the Journal of Experimental Gerontology, identifying Sardinia as the region of the world with the highest concentration of male centenarians. Pes and Poulain drew concentric blue circles on the map highlighting these villages of extreme longevity and began to refer to this area inside the circle as the blue zone. Building on that demographic work, Dan pinpointed other longevity hotspots around the world and dubbed them blue zones.

Blue Zones Power 9: Lifestyle Habits of the World’s Healthiest, Longest-Lived People

1. Move Naturally

The world’s longest-lived people don’t pump iron, run marathons or join gyms. Instead, they live in environments that constantly nudge them into moving without thinking about it. They grow gardens and don’t have mechanical conveniences for house and yard work.

2. Purpose

The Okinawans call it “Ikigai” and the Nicoyans call it “plan de vida;” for both it translates to “why I wake up in the morning.” Knowing your sense of purpose is worth up to seven years of extra life expectancy

3. Down Shift

Even people in the Blue Zones experience stress. Stress leads to chronic inflammation, associated with every major age-related disease. What the world’s longest-lived people have that we don’t are routines to shed that stress. Okinawans take a few moments each day to remember their ancestors, Adventists pray, Ikarians take a nap and Sardinians do happy hour.

4. 80% Rule

“Hara hachi bu”  – the Okinawan, 2500-year old Confucian mantra said before meals reminds them to stop eating when their stomachs are 80 percent full. The 20% gap between not being hungry and feeling full could be the difference between losing weight or gaining it. People in the blue zones eat their smallest meal in the late afternoon or early evening and then they don’t eat any more the rest of the day.

5. Plant Slant

Beans, including fava, black, soy and lentils, are the cornerstone of most centenarian diets. Meat—mostly pork—is eaten on average only five times per month.  Serving sizes are 3-4 oz., about the size of a deck of cards.

6. Wine @ 5

People in all blue zones (except Adventists) drink alcohol moderately and regularly.  Moderate drinkers outlive non-drinkers. The trick is to drink 1-2 glasses per day (preferably Sardinian Cannonau wine), with friends and/or with food. And no, you can’t save up all week and have 14 drinks on Saturday.

7. Belong

All but five of the 263 centenarians we interviewed belonged to some faith-based community.  Denomination doesn’t seem to matter. Research shows that attending faith-based services four times per month will add 4-14 years of life expectancy.

8. Loved Ones First

Successful centenarians in the blue zones put their families first. This means keeping aging parents and grandparents nearby or in the home (It lowers disease and mortality rates of children in the home too.). They commit to a life partner (which can add up to 3 years of life expectancy) and invest in their children with time and love (They’ll be more likely to care for you when the time comes).

9. Right Tribe

The world’s longest lived people chose–or were born into–social circles that supported healthy behaviors, Okinawans created ”moais”–groups of five friends that committed to each other for life. Research from the Framingham Studies shows that smoking, obesity, happiness, and even loneliness are contagious. So the social networks of long-lived people have favorably shaped their health behaviors.

To make it to age 100, you have to have won the genetic lottery. But most of us have the capacity to make it well into our early 90’s and largely without chronic disease. As the Adventists demonstrate, the average person’s life expectancy could increase by 10-12 years by adopting a Blue Zones lifestyle.

“Gourmet Ghetto”

Tempura Roll

Some places in California like to boost they are in fact the “gourmet ghettos”. We have our own gourmet ghetto right in this area. Paquera has Macho’s and Restaurante Liz Seafood next to Macho’s. They are both located side by side at the North end of town heading to Tambor. The food at these cafe’s are fabulous!

Spicy Tuna Roll

Now Restaurante Liz has sushi! Yes, the best sushi. They even have vegetarian sushi. It is super fresh and don’t be fooled–the rolls are huge. Family style would be great for this. The rolls range from tempura, caterpillar, salmon skin, and veggie rolls. Amazing. And of course, the presentation is top-notch. You can not find a better presentation any place! The prices are so reasonable. This is the best thing that has happened to dining in Paquera.

Don’t forget the seafood soup at Liz–it is out of the world. Also, the sea bass, fresh catch, and ceviche are Amaaaazing!!!

Macho’s of course has the finest burger one can find. Huge, organic grass fed and has bacon, toppings, and a real bun that is fresh; Everything about this beats any burger in the country. The casado’s are reasonably priced and fresh. Important note–The place has the best sangria and service!

Best Civeche

Moving right along Isla Chiquita is over the top in every way. Romance, business, visitors, birthdays, or just a special dinner–this is the place where people say: Wow!

Isla Chiquita is a boutique glamping resort but they allow guests to visit for dinner reservations only. A private boat will pick you up at the ferry landing by the ambulance parking spot on the north side of the dock. The ride is super special because of the bioluminescence. The water throws up amazing turquoise glowing rainbows at night. This magic boat ride and dinner will amaze you in every way.

Once you are on the small island about 5 minutes from the ferry, you will be greeted by the best in hospitality. The dock is beautiful with fairy lights and romance exuding from the white sand, the patio tables, and the rustic bar. The bar is stocked with top-shelf liquor and the menu is divine. The steak and lobster, chicken cordon bleu was a special favorite. The desserts are awesome. Everything about this place is special and memorable.

So much good food right now. We will feature more in the coming blogs. Cheers and enjoy! This place is a gourmet gem.

Baby Turtles Set to Sea!

Yesterday, Carlos Solana and the conservation crew along with families and beachgoers set out on a mission: The eggs that were laid and harvested, hatched, grew into baby turtles and they were set out on the beach.

New life at Playa Organos!

Instinctually, they knew where to head…..into the ocean. They know how to swim and survive so they they went! Out to sea……

The turtle eggs are laid in nests which are basically a pit or hole dug by the mother turtle. The eggs in this case were watched over and monitored regularly by a crew of conservationists.

The eggs were hatched and the baby turtles were nurtured by the conservationists. Sometimes the eggs can be disturbed by vandals, wild dogs, or even people who consider them a delicacy. These eggs were all hatched and the results were amazing.

We have so much to enjoy in Playa Organos!

Off they go to the sea!

Isla Tortuga is the treasure of Costa Rica! And so close!

Pristine white sand beaches minutes away

There are several islands in Costa Rica that are worth including in your travel itinerary through the region, one of the most outstanding is Isla Tortuga. It is located off the southeast coast of the Nicoya Peninsula in the north of the country, located 12 nautical miles from Puntarenas.

It is one of those unique destinations that give you a pleasant experience since it is not only a beautiful island with its beach and a large number of characteristic palm trees, it is also a historical site because it was part of the buccaneer pirate bands that embarked on the island ago. centuries.

From a distance out to sea, its shape resembles chelonians which means turtle in the ancient Huetar language, belonging to the indigenous people who populated part of the Central Pacific, hence its name.

One of my favorite adventures is to go with Bahia Rica to Monkey Island and then picnic and play in the waters at Isla Tortuga. There is amazing snorkeling and Bahia Rica or a local guide has gear. There is even a banana boat, great bars with coconut cocktails, a gift shop that sells food, and even wifi time.

You can go to the Playa Organos beach and ask a local boat tour guide to take you out for about 10.000 colones per person.

This is for sure worth the fun!
Something I do on a regular basis……

The snorkeling is magical!
The scenic wonders of Tortuga Island Delight
Wilbur makes ceviche and fresh oysters right from his boat to yours!

Monkey man!

Monkey Island is a delight always a show.…

Authentic Gem of Costa Rica

Organos Beach, Playa Organos

Organos Beach, Playa Organos, a quiet bay with a gray sandy beach, surrounded by jungle, with a large number of coconut trees and a couple of shacks, is part of the dry forest.

Organos Beach Paquera Costa Rica

The bay is safe and ideal for swimming, there are fun bodysurfing waves.

Organos Beach has an Ecological Blue Flag Award from the Ministry of Environment, for its cleanliness and eco quality.

Paquera Beach downtown

Organos Beach is just two miles from Paquera downtown It is almost a mile large, with an estuary or Óganos also has a mangrove on the northern, It is the most popular among locals from the surroundings, it has beautiful scenery and from its shoreline, you can watch the Negritos Island and Tortugas Island.

Big Beach Clean UP @ Playa Organos…..September 18th

Many people gathered at Playa Organos today to clean up the winter beach.

During the winter/rainy season months, the beach becomes filled with plastics and trash. Of course, this goes away with the storms but where does it all go? The ocean becomes polluted so beach clean-up days are vital for the life of a healthy planet.

Bellevue is a key part of CAPATUR which is the Tourism Board and Carlos Solana works tirelessly to help improve life at Bellevue, Playa Organos, and Paquera. CAPATUR along with Carlos organized the beach clean up and about 20 people came out along with children.

Trucks and bags were filled and hauled away. It was a beautiful sunny bright Productive day at Playa Organos.

Thank you to Carlos, CAPATUR, and everyone who came out to help!

Carlos Solana: “I moved to beautiful Costa Rica 10 years ago to the place I fell in love with, called Playa Organos on the Nicoya Peninsula. Can you imagine my excitement when I found out that this is not only just a beautiful beach with palm trees but also an important nesting site for three different turtle species?”

‘However, in all the world’s oceans the turtles are endangered, and also here at Playa Organos/Paquera, we can see why. From when the eggs are laid till hatching, they are threatened by natural and also human predators. Poaching turtle eggs is very common in Costa Rica, so very few eggs actually end up hatching.”

I decided to do something to help save the turtles in my local community. I got my friends at the local tourist association CAPATUR involved (non-profit) and we started two months ago with 25 local volunteers patrolling the beach which is the very first step to protect the turtles. As we expected, sadly every morning we found poached nests. The following steps in our project are:

January/February 2021
Send the report of our patrols to the Government to get the permit to start a Turtle protection plan. Building the Turtle protection area at Playa Organos.

April 2021
Start the knowledge transfer to the Team Leaders.

July till November/December 2021 and each year following
Patrols (volunteers)        Team 1:  6pm – 12am    Team 2:  12am – 6am
Certified people from the local community will guide everyone interested in the Project. In that way earning money as a guide instead of poaching and selling the eggs illegally…. protecting the Turtles!

If you care about the environment, wildlife, and of course in particular if you love turtles like I do, and would like to contribute to our project with a donation, we and the thousands of baby turtles hatching at Playa Organos in the future would be deeply thankful. Every donation, big or small, will help us move forward and 100% of your donation will be used on the turtle project. The project team from CAPATUR (Vigdis Vatshaug, Elisabeth Molina Aubert, Angel Coello & Carlos Solana) and everyone else involved are volunteering their time and not getting paid.

As GoFundMe does not allow connecting the campaign to an account in Costa Rica, the currency is in CHF (Swiss Francs). Please do not forget to mention your full name in order to appear on our thank you list.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU,

Juan Zalazar, Landscape Designer @ Bellevue

Big trees speak to me… I find joy in nature.

Nature is so Intense at Playa Organos and Bellevue–Let’s Celebrate It!

“I love landscaping, planting, flowers, and trees. I love the environment of the Bellevue area. There are such big trees that make this area so special. I want to incorporate the big trees and the gardens. I want to keep it all together so we keep it as a whole.”

Sustainability and respect for nature are key to Juan. When you discuss landscape and nature, Juan becomes very passionate and animated. You can tell he loves his work.

Juan sees his work as “helping people and nature to work as one.” He went to college to study agriculture and has studied all aspects including farm and ranch life. The landscape is something new to his resume and he got into it because he “loves big trees and how they impact the environment around them. I love seeing how trees interact with nature and now people.”

“I love forests and I want to know everything about trees and keeping them healthy. I have always loved the country more than the city. I love nature more than inside. I love being in the woods and seeing things transforming. It is so beautiful. There is always a way to improve and help nature grow! I love seeing a garden come alive and seeing how they grow and things with your hands like a small seed flower assures me, I love my job!”

There is so much to do in the Playa Organos area.

Bellevue has a Yoga Spa and their site is: https://yogacostarica.net/en/

A Dive Center will be opening at Bellevue very soon…….

Our favorite tour company Bahia Rica provides wonderful tours, fishing, snorkeling, stand-up paddle board tours, kayaking and rentals. Bioluminescent tours. Amazing and their site is: https://www.bahiarica.com/

The Curu Nature Reserve is next to the Playa Organos beach. Amazing place: https://curuwildliferefuge.com/

The Playa Organos beach is a sleepy little beach with black sand. Walking distance from Bellevue and there is a small beach bar that has great food, limited beers and is open some of the time. Great people and fish dishes.

Living in Bellevue

Bellevue is different On Purpose. This is an authentic and rustic area of Costa Rica. Many places you find in Costa Rica have been “over developed” and lost touch with nature, serenity and the rich culture of Costa Rica.

Bellevue strives to be bold, beautiful and hidden. The community is nestled in the trees on a mountainside within walking distance to the beach. The community feels one with nature and surrounded by jungle, monkey’s, birds, coyotes and wild cats. Nature has not been destroyed by this community and the homes are luxurious and contemporary at the same time.

Bellevue attracts a different kind of person and families. People that want to get off the beaten path and explore the world, nature and live differently than the dull ho-hum of the concrete jungle.

This is what I call: An Intentional International Community.

Bellevue Luxury Lifestyle Means…….

It feel luxurious, comfortable and gives the feeling of home but more like being on a permanent vacation.

Life at Bellevue is “The Reset Button”. When you pull into your driveway, park your car–you release the energy that you once knew as coming home.

Here in Playa Organos you may be home but you feel worlds away from the bustle of city life, traffic, noise, people and stress. You Reset Your Brain Waves with the sound of the natural ocean waves.

Studies prove: Listening to ocean waves for 20 minutes or more per day–actually enhances the ability to clearly think and analytically process. Listening to the sound of waves is proven to destress everyone.

The beach is minutes in walking distance. The community is hidden and it feels like “summer camp” at Bellevue. All those good memories of playing outside, enjoying the summer and having fun with your friends. You know: The Endless Summer–You hope never ends.

Endless Summer–Bellevue is Summer Camp For Everyone!

Luxury Lifestyle Means:

Stress Free Living

“Beyond fine crystal chandeliers, polished marble floors and granite, a new trend has emerged for buyers looking for a dimension of luxury defined by a change in lifestyle, where nature also takes its place, as part of the needs and desires of the high end buyer, creating extraordinary living experiences.

People buying property in Costa Rica as a second home, retirement home, or permanent residence, get much more than a house and a parcel, they get the experience of living in a tropical country with one of the best climates of the world.  In one of the most exotic destinations of the Americas, with a tiny total extension of 51,100 km2 that holds the largest biodiversity of the world per km2.”

Haute Residence
